First of all I would like to thank Steve and Neil and all the members of the www.ukcampsite.co.uk website all your support and encouragement to do this job myself and save what would probably cost close to £5000 to get repaired professionally. Also the workshop staff at Harrington's Caravans for the advice and products sold to me. |
One thing I must mention is there never was a smell of damp in the caravan. |
We knew we had a problem on the rear of the caravan when I pushed the handle on the back nearside and the caravan didn't move yet the handle did. yuck, further investigation showed us just why. |
On this picture you can just see the damage on the panel . |
Here is what we discovered when we started to strip the caravan down. |
The boss helps me to strip out the damp at first its all smiles but then we found this |
We also noticed the damp had spread from top to the bottom of the caravan |
We continued to dig out the rotten wood to asses what we would need to buy. |
