At La motte camping , minutes from Montguyon you can enjoy short trips for wine tasting and buying. Horse riding (next to the camp), walking, jet skiing, quad biking and canoeing are all within a short distance and the Aire de Beauvalon is minutes around quiet country lanes with its beach, swimming lake, boat rides, childrens play houses/area and great food.

Montguyon 'The Ville' was originally a medieval town, now it is a bustling market town, the castle ruins are still visited by many tourists each year. It is famous for its Son et Lumiere and International Folklore Festival in July, has the remains of a 12th Century castle. It has numerous amenities also it has an Intermarche and a vegetable market on Wednesdays. Guitres , (20 minutes) offers boat trips on the River L'Isle and steam train trips. It also has a wine chai where local wine can be bought in bottles or vracs. Coutras (30 minutes) (on the River Dronne) is a major town with a Leclerc and an Intermarche. Libourne , (30 minutes) Bordeaux , (45 minutes) St.Emilion (30 minutes) and Angouleme (45 minutes) are all within a reasonable distance. Cognac is only an hour away, and there are many other places of interest for days out also, including the theme park Futuroscope also great local indoor/outdoor water parks Aubeterre-sur-Dronne : At Aubeterre-sur-Dronne , you will find the monolithic Church of Saint-Jean of Aubeterre.
