Arrived on site on Friday 15th July and booked in to what was a very clean and tidy site although the pitch that we were allocated was not very level we managed to set ourselves up for our 2 day stay.
The first thing that we noticed was that there were no tariffs posted and were quite taken aback when we were asked for £47.00 for the 2 nights. Then we were further taken aback when I tried to go for a shower in the new toilet block at 10:00PM to find that they were closed and there was no signs stating as to why or giving instructions where to go for the toilets or showers (although at 12:00am) we finally found that there were showers and toilets in the older blocks which although very clean were for the amount of vans / tents on site very limited.
The showers in these cubicles are not suitable for children as the temperature of the showers is a tad on the hot side and the pressure from the shower head would be capable of knocking a small child down, if the heat did not get to them 1st.
If you required a Breakfast or meal in the restaurant you were required to book the night before and the same went for the swimming pool, which to me appears to be that the amenities are not large enough to cope with the amount of pitches on site.
All in all a very good and clean site but seems to be understaffed when really busy and really needs to reduce their rates a bit even when high season as the people who parked behind us were charged £20:00 for pitching a tent for one night.
Access to the beach is stated in the park rules as being by the steps only which quite amused me as the only place there were steps down to the beach was in front of the residential caravans. If the park wants these rules to be adhered to they need to provide more access steps to the beach form the tourer pitches.

Grannies Heilan' Hame is one of our favourite destinations when going away with our caravan. It is about 200 miles North of our home in West Lothian. Grannies is set right on the seafront adjacent to the village of Embo three miles from Dornoch, which is 45 miles north of Inverness on the A9
There are several places that you can go to for a day out. John O'Groats is only a few hours drive along some beautiful scenic routes. or there is Ullapool on the West Coast again within easy reach. For those who like to shop Inverness is only an hours drive away and boasts some of the best shopping centres in the Highlands.
For the 2002 season the site at Grannies have built a new toilet block for tourers which is extremely well laid out for those who are less able or able bodied alike.
The program of events boasts some of Scotland's best bands both folk music and popular music are catered for. For the kids there is the Tree Tops Grove Club with Maxamillion and Moonbeam.
