THE THOMSON OWNERS' CLUB
No. 9 December Newsletter 1967
Dear Member,
Whereas I am pleased to report a few items of "News" to you, the main purpose of this December Newsletter is to convey the good wishes and Seasons Greetings of the Committee of the Club to all our members. We wish you all the happiest of Christmases and a New Year of outstanding pleasure and progress in whatever you may undertake, not least of all with your Thomson caravan. I am sure you will all wish to join the Committee in similar greetings to Messrs Thomson.

Dinner Dance
Our first dinner and dance at Chesford Grange Hotel was agreed by all to be a tremendous success thirteen families who brought their caravans were rewarded with spring like weather for the weekend. In response to wide demand a repeat event for 1968 is already being planned the date will be brought forward to October 26 th 1968 to make caravanning more acceptable and to avoid another clash with the Caravan Exhibition. It will help your committee in advance planning if we can have some idea of possible numbers. If you will come, given good weather, good health and everything else being favourable, do drop us a line. You will not be committed to anything but we shall get an idea whether to book a village hall or the Albert Hall.

Cry from the Heart

Our Hon. Treasurer, Mr. Trevor Marsh asks me to say that having dealt with the avalanche of renewals at the A.G.M; the treasurer is now double checking the records for 1968 to date. He would like to know, indeed, is anxious to know, if any member who has paid for 1968 has not yet received his membership card. EVERYONE WHO HAS PAID SHOULD NOW HAVE A CARD. If you are an exception please get in touch without delay. Failure to do so may well cause embarrassment when you get a "reminder" and this we wish to avoid at all costs.

Coming Events

Our 1968 Rally programme is well in hand, but final details are not available at the time this is being prepared for press. I hope to give more details in the next newsletter.

1968 National Road Rally
Your committee (and Messrs Thomson) would like to see a T.O.C. team entered for the 1968 National Caravan Road Rally. Will all you sportsmen and 'sportswomen let us have your names as possible entries and the committee will be pleased to make necessary arrangements. Last year our Hon. Treasurer won the Concours d'Elegance. Anyone to challenge him in this year's bid? Even I may try that if I get a respray !

Another Cry from the Heart.

My Newsletters are getting drier and drier. Who will give me one hundred words or more on any of the following or other interesting subjects, to liven up future issues? I will be pleased to edit, if required to' do so.

  1. Laying up a van for the winter.
  2. Arranging an overseas trip.
  3. Road conditions on the Continent.
  4. British Caravan Road Rally.
  5. A Wine Festival rally.
  6. Concours d'Elegance.
  7. Maker's notes.

Closing Note.
Hope you enjoyed your 1967 caravan year, looking forward to seeing you in 1968 and again with every good wish for Christmas.
